As a Junior Software Developer, you’ll help us conquer the European e-commerce logistics market—powered by our passionate, tech-driven team. At QLS, IT connects everything we do, and your code will make a real-world impact from day one.

Who we are
QLS started over 20 years ago as a family business built on passion. Today, we are one of the leading logistics players in the Benelux e-commerce sector. We help online retailers by fully taking over their logistics operations.

Our parcel service picks up shipments daily across the Netherlands and Belgium. For fulfillment clients, we automatically pack their parcels using one of the largest AutoStores in the country, multiple packing machines, and hundreds of meters of conveyor belts. Our self-built platform, my.QLS, connects it all—offering real-time order visibility and maximum operational efficiency.

Your role
As a Junior PHP Developer, you’ll join the my.QLS development team, working alongside passionate developers and a Product Owner. Our dedicated IT Support team will have your back. Together, you’ll improve and expand our platform through:

• Maintaining and building new API integrations with webshops (Shopify, Lightspeed, Magento), platforms (Bol, Amazon), and carrier partners (DHL, PostNL, DPD);
• Enhancing warehouse flows through automation with AutoStore, packing machines, and conveyors;
• Developing robust tools for our warehouse staff to ensure consistently high-quality order handling;
• Creating microservices to make our platform faster and more scalable;
• Building dashboards and visualizations with tools like Elastic and Kibana to give real-time insights to both employees and clients.

You’ll work closely with the IT Lead to develop domain knowledge and master new technologies—seeing your code in action directly in our warehouse operations.

Who you are

• You have an HBO-level education (or equivalent);
• You live in the Netherlands and speak Dutch fluently (mandatory);
• You have experience with PHP 7.4+ and frameworks like Symfony, Laravel, or CakePHP;
• You’ve built some cool side projects you’re excited to show us;
• You understand OOP and design principles like SOLID;
• You’re curious to work with other languages like C# (Android) or Go (experience is a plus!);
• You’re familiar with MySQL and have some experience with Agile development;
• You’re eager to learn Git and tools like Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket;
• You’re open to working with Elasticsearch, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Redis, and Docker.
